Curious George is a popular character for children’s birthday cakes. Here is a simple one that will feed about 12-15. It’s a simple design but still needed some pizazz hence the glitter number! If you need a cake for your child’s birthday, be sure to contact us as soon as you can as we often are booking a few weeks in advance.

This custom birthday cake was created for a cat lover with the 3D kitty modeled after her own cat. We decided to put the cat into action playing on a large over-sized ball of yarn. The cake was red velvet with cream cheese frosting. All the decorations are edible and made of fondant. Have a birthday for a cat lover? This would be a purrrrfect design!

This cute custom owl cake was created for a going away party for a girl moving to Australia. Guess what she loved… yes owls. Also, the color purple. These 2 elements were integrated into a custom cake. Boy was she surprised at her party! A custom cake is a lovely way to say many things… including goodbye.
This birthday cake was created for a little boy’s 4th birthday. His mom told me he loved rocket ships so we created this space themed cake. The tiers were decorated with various planets and stars and the keepsake toppers were an astronaut and a rocket ship. The cake was also a vegan cake with no eggs or dairy due to allergies.

I was so excited about this specialty cake project. I create so many children’s cakes that I look forward to creating an adult custom cake. A sophisticated custom fondant birthday cake was required for a special birthday girl. I wanted to create something that would stand out as much as she did. This called for something sophisticated rather than cute. I decided to go with classic black and white. Simple lines with a fondant cake with some ribbon accents. Then the cake was topped off with a large over-sized anemone flower which could be kept as a keepsake as a memento of the birthday celebration. Cake flavor was her favorite-red velvet. Here is the result.

We get many requests for Hello Kitty custom birthday cakes here at Joli Cakes. I personally love creating them as there is something just so simple but yet so adorable about this little cat. Plus, there are so many Hello Kitty fans out there that it makes a great surprise birthday cake! This one is a sculpted custom cake of Hello Kitty’s face. Inside, we filled it with a simple vanilla on vanilla cake and filing.

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope everyone had a memorable Christmas! I’m still eating turkey leftovers myself! yum!! This Christmas, I made wanted to make a Winter themed cake. Not a cake that was too Christmasy but rather just Wintery! I adore penguins, they are such cute little guys, so decided to make an igloo cake surrounded by 3D penguins. Here it is. Inside you will find Chai cake with cinnamon frosting.

This weekend we had the pleasure of creating a special custom Minnie Mouse birthday cake for a little girl named Sam who is turning 2. If you are making a Minnie Mouse cake you have to have the EARS! We retained those but kept the design quite simple otherwise. We also went with soft tones of pink instead of the usual Minnie Mouse colors to give it a more sophisticated and elegant feel. Here is the end result.
